(In October and December there are special events…!) \nThese parties help puppies socialize and build positive experiences with new friends (both human and K9) helping them learn appropriate ways to behave. \nPuppy playgroups are organized by size – so little pups aren’t overwhelmed by big ones.  All Puppy Parties are supervised by our staff. \nPuppy parties are held “Rain or Shine” – outside in our fenced in play yards or inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate! \nWe encourage everyone\, especially parents of children who are thinking about getting a new puppy\,  to ask questions about what they see.  This will help them learn about the many varieties of dogs as well as the many the responsibilities of helping a puppy grow up to be a good dog. \nPuppy parties are FREE for anyone to attend.  We encourage people to call Walkers (724) 327-PAWS in advance to let us know if you are planning to attend – but an RSVP is not required. \nRequirements:\nALL Puppies:\nVeterinary records are required– so puppies don’t get each other sick:  Rabies\, Distemper Series vaccinations must be current.  The Bordetella (Canine Cough) vaccine must be current and have been given at least 3 days before the party.  Walkers also requires proof of a negative fecal test.  We encourage people to ask their Vet to fax these records to our attention prior to the party to facilitate the check-in process. \nPuppies over 6-Months Old:\nMust be spayed or neutered to attend a Puppy Party. \n

DESCRIPTION:The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get loving dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. This program is available for puppies who have attended at least 6 basic obedience training classes. \nThe AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test will be given on the 7th week of the Walkers Basic Obedience Class. Upon passing the test\, all puppies less than 1 year old will get an application to send to AKC® for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.  All dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program including purebreds and mixed breeds. \nThere is no additional cost for this test if you have attended the Basic Obedience Class at Walkers.  There is a $5 charge if you have not taken the class at Walkers. \nNext Test Dates: \n11:00AM – 12:00 PM\, Saturday\, August 20\, 2016\n6:00 – 7:00 PM\, Wednesday\, August 31\, 2016

SUMMARY:Puppy Parties
DESCRIPTION:Walkers Pet HoTail Pet Care Center holds puppy parties every month for puppies under 2 years old.  These parties help puppies socialize and build positive experiences with new friends (both human and K9) helping them learn appropriate ways to behave.  Puppy playgroups are organized by size – so little pups aren’t overwhelmed by big ones.  All Puppy Parties are supervised by our staff and take place in our inside or outside play areas depending on weather conditions.  We encourage everyone\, especially parents of children who are thinking about getting a new puppy\,  to ask questions about what they see and learn about the many varieties of dogs as well as the many the responsibilities of helping a puppy grow up to be a good dog. \nPuppy parties are FREE for anyone to attend and are held in our outdoor fenced in play yards if the weather is nice or inside our building if it isn’t.  We encourage people to call Walkers in advance to let us know if you are planning to attend but an RSVP is not required. \nVeterinary records are required – so puppies don’t get each other sick:  Rabies\, Distemper Series vaccinations must be current.  The Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine must be current and have been given at least 3 days before the party.  Walkers also requires proof of a negative fecal test.  We encourage people to ask their Vet to fax these records to our attention prior to the party to facilitate the check-in process.
